Based on the work of inventor Louis Graves, here is a compact sharpener that will do it all. Two diamond rods for establishing a new bevel and/or thinning a dull blade. Two ceramic rods of very high alumina content to put that razor sharp finished edge on the blade.
After about five years, we have revived the CIA Letter Opener. Designed in the mid-1970's, it was based on the A. G. Russell all steel Sting 1A and has been one of our most popular items of all time. This is the world's toughest letter opener.
The ceramic sharpener was invented by Louis Graves. We have always disagreed with Louis about the proper angle for the rods, but in every other way, he really knew what he was doing.
These clippers are not at all like the common American (where ever made) clippers. They do not crush the nail, causing ragged edges, they cut clean. The razor sharp edges meet exactly, and trim your nails or trim away hang nails like no clippers you have ever experienced.
Most folders that you purchase today do not include a quality pouch. We have had several requests over the years for a good-looking quality leather pouch sheath to accompany the quality folders that we sell. In 2007, we began offering a Japanese made model with a brass peg and leather strap closure. At about the same time we were offered a more traditional pouch, this one high quality handmade.
About 15 years ago, I bought a large quantity of knives from a distributor in Australia. Part of that stock was from a Japanese maker who had made really good knives but the leather pouches he furnished were even better than the knives.
Great Leather pouches to protect your fine pocketknives. It is a shame to carry a fine William Henry or original Hen & Rooster knife without protecting it with a classy Morroco type leather pouch. These will lie flat in your pocket and are very elegant.
Produced especially for A. G. Russell customers, this foam lined presentation box will hold all knives measuring up to 1/2" thick and 6" long. Protects your prize knife and adds to its presentation.
These glass topped display cases are constructed in the U. S. of American Black Walnut. The glass is etched A. G. Russell Knives. Solid and beautifully crafted, each case makes an impressive display for a single knife or your collection.
This block is hollow which means there is no way for debris and bacteria to accumulate inside the knife block and come in contact with knife blades.
The knives in this set are so great that those of you who have been searching for kitchen knives of superlative steel, ground so thin that the blade seems to fall through whatever you are cutting, are going to be thrilled!
As a better match for the Cocobolo handles of our kitchen knives, we have constructed our wood knife block from poplar wood and added a black paint.
